Time and again Amigo and Echo have reminded me that the only way our relationship will work is if I show them that I love them, I hear them, and I want what is best for them. I simply cannot push this. I must allow it.
With horses, everything starts with the energy we bring. If we get too focused on getting results or achieving a goal, we can lose the connection--and literally lose the horse. The irony is that we must stop trying so hard. Only when we come back to softness, love and understanding do we achieve the peaceful, precise, connected performance we seek.
And so it is with life. Let’s bring in 2023 with softness, surrender, and purpose. Allow it to come to us and bring our best selves to it with grace and surrender.
