Horse Wisdom: Ready, Aim, Fire…or not?

“Ready, aim, fire” is a common saying with a powerful message about optimal use of our three brains.  This sequence, originally used in battle, also applies to leadership.  We can be ready first emotionally  from the heart, then use our head brain to “aim”, then summon the “guts” or courage to take action -fire”. 

It might surprise you to know that people operate in all of life with a preferred order of ready (heart), aim (head) and fire (heart).  Our “default sequence” is based on habit, awareness, and personality.   Some “fire, aim, ready” some “aim, fire, ready”, and some “ready, aim, fire.”    The more we can learn to pay attention to and align all three of our brains-clarity, connection, and courage, the more effective we will be.
